Skip Bayless: Professional Troll and General Asshole

Milli is starting a new series (in order to have a regular commitment to blog) in which he'll highlight a sports personality who he can't stand. This week: Skip Bayless.

I'm sure many of you are familiar with Skip Bayless. He is the definition of a blowhard. He knows little to nothing about analyzing professional sports, but has opinions on everything sports related. He's all about generalities and controversial opinions. He's made a career of being an uninformed troll, and it drives me crazy.

Relentless hatred of Lebron James:

Look, I'm not the biggest Lebron James fan. But he's undeniably an incredible athlete, and the best player in basketball today. Skip will never admit it. Never. Ever. I can go on and on with clips of Skip disrespecting Lebron. It's his main schtick. If Lebron loses, you can be sure Skip is slamming him the next day.


Tim Tebow fanboy:

Good God. Not even God loves Tim Tebow as much as Skip Bayless loves Tim Tebow. He's said that Tim Tebow is better than 1) Tom Brady and 2) Aaron Rodgers. As a reminder, this is what Tim Tebow looks like as an NFL quarterback...

But hey, at least his love of Tebow spawned this...

The tragic lack of white American bred NBA players:

So, I have a bunch of issues with his comments here.

1)  "There are zero white American bred stars [in the NBA]"

Poor Skip. He's unable to relate to the 20 and 30 year old millionaires that play basketball professionally because they're all black. Not because they're millionaires and he's not. Not because they're talented athletes and he obviously is not. And not because they're 20 and he's ancient. We should let more white American bred stars play basketball. It isn't fair!

2)  He takes pride in Blake Griffin as a white NBA player

This the literally the worst. Skip, you might want to read up on the history of discrimination against multiracial blacks, a history of telling them that they are in black and not white. Look it up. But hey, the lack of "white American bred NBA players" in Skip Bayless's life is a serious issue guys!

3)  He pronounces "white" as "hwhite"

Just no.


I could go on and on about why Skip Bayless (and his baseless analysis) are infuriating, but I'll just let Mark Cuban do it for me....
